L Timing Belt 6.7″-270″, 9.525mm 0.5″/0.75″/1″/1.5″ CR, Agri & HVAC Supplier

L timing belt with a 9.525 mm (0.375 inch) pitch and trapezoidal tooth for light-to-medium industrial power transmission

Product Overview

The L Synchronous Belt (also known as the L Timing Belt) is an inch-pitch trapezoidal tooth synchronous belt with a 9.525 mm (0.375 inch) pitch. It transmits power through the meshing of belt teeth with pulley grooves rather than by friction, so the drive has no slip and no speed fluctuation.

The L profile is the mid-duty member of the classic inch-pitch trapezoidal belt family. It sits above XL (5.080 mm) for heavier loads and below H (12.700 mm) for compact installations. This makes it a practical choice for light-to-medium industrial drives where reliable timing matters more than the extreme loads handled by the H profile.

The belt requires no lubrication, has no slip and no pollution, and runs with low noise. Transmission efficiency reaches 98% or more.

Materials & Construction

Every L Synchronous Belt is built with a proven three-layer composite structure using premium, industry-grade materials for stable dimensions and long service life.

Layer	Material	Function
Tensile Member (Core)	high-strength glass fiber cord	Carries the full tensile load with very low elongation, keeping the pitch length stable under load.
Body Compound	Premium synthetic chloroprene rubber (CR) blended with multiple rubber additives	Bonds and protects the cord, transmits the load, and resists heat, cold, oil, water and chemicals.
Tooth Facing	Specially treated Nylon 66 high-elastic fabric	Protects the tooth surface from wear, lowers friction against the pulley groove, and keeps the tooth form accurate.

Standard Specifications

Parameter	Imperial	Metric
Tooth Pitch	0.375 in	9.525 mm
Tooth Height	0.075 in	1.91 mm
Belt Thickness (standard)	0.143 in	3.63 mm

Model Designation

An L belt is designated by its pitch line length code, followed by the letter L for the profile. Taking 300L as the example: 300 is the pitch line length code (30.0 inches) and L is the profile (9.525 mm pitch). Pitch line length in millimetres equals the length in inches multiplied by 25.4.

Standard Belt Widths

Width Code	Width (inches)	Width (mm)	Typical Application
050	0.50″	12.7 mm	Light office equipment, small appliances, small printers
075	0.75″	19 mm	Sewing machines, vending machines, small conveyors
100	1.00″	25.4 mm	Packaging machinery, food processing, medium-duty industrial drives
150	1.50″	38 mm	Heavy conveyors, agricultural equipment, HVAC drives

All L timing belts are manufactured to the ISO 5296 standard for inch-pitch trapezoidal tooth profiles with a 9.525 mm (0.375 inch) pitch, a 1.91 mm tooth height and a 40 degree tooth angle, ensuring full dimensional interchangeability with equivalent-profile L timing belts from other mainstream international manufacturers.

Applications

Industrial Machinery: Light-to-medium conveyors, packaging machinery, food processing lines, printing equipment, textile machinery.
Commercial & Process Equipment: HVAC drives, agricultural equipment, pumps, blowers, sewing machines, vending machines.
Replacement Drives: Direct replacement on existing L pulley installations, restoring original speed ratio without pulley changes.

Installation & Maintenance

Inspect on receipt: Surface clean, belt not twisted, teeth full and well-formed.
Never bend or crimp: Bending damages the glass fiber tensile member.
Avoid chemicals: Do not let belt contact strong oxidizing acids; avoid prolonged oil or water exposure.
Reduce tension before removal: Never pry off under high tension or with unauthorised tools.
Check pulley alignment: Pulleys must be parallel and coplanar.
Tension correctly: Just enough to prevent tooth jumping under maximum load. Over-tensioning shortens bearing life.
Keep drive clean: Remove oil, dust and debris. Replace at first sign of tooth wear or cracking.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an L timing belt?

The L timing belt is an inch-pitch trapezoidal-tooth synchronous belt with a 9.525 mm (0.375 inch) pitch, a 1.91 mm tooth height and a 3.63 mm thickness. It is designed for light-to-medium duty power transmission where a positive, non-slip drive and accurate speed ratios are required.

What is the difference between L and XL timing belts?

Both are inch-pitch trapezoidal belts. XL has a 0.200 inch (5.080 mm) pitch, while L has a 0.375 inch (9.525 mm) pitch. L is the larger, heavier-duty profile: it transmits more torque but needs larger pulleys, so L and XL belts are not interchangeable.

How do I read an L belt model number such as 300L?

The number is the pitch line length in tenths of an inch and L is the profile. So 300L means a 30.0 inch (762 mm) pitch line length with a 9.525 mm pitch. To find the number of teeth, divide the pitch length by the pitch: 30.0 / 0.375 = 80 teeth.

What widths and lengths are available?

We stock 182 standard L models from 67L to 2700L in four width codes: 050 (0.50 inch / 12.7 mm), 075 (0.75 inch / 19.1 mm), 100 (1.00 inch / 25.4 mm) and 150 (1.50 inch / 38.1 mm). Custom widths and lengths can be manufactured on request.

What materials and construction do L belts use?

Every L belt uses a three-layer composite construction: a high-strength glass fiber tensile cord, a chloroprene rubber (CR) body, and a specially treated nylon 66 tooth facing for wear protection and low friction.

What is the minimum order quantity and lead time?

The minimum order quantity is 100 pieces for stock sizes. OEM and private label orders are available, and production lead times are confirmed when you place your order.

What applications are L timing belts used for?

L timing belts are used for light-to-medium duty drives such as conveyors, packaging machinery, food processing lines, printing and textile machinery, HVAC drives, agricultural equipment, pumps, blowers, sewing machines and vending machines, as well as drop-in replacement on existing L pulley installations.

Are L timing belts interchangeable with belts from other manufacturers?

Yes. Our L timing belts are manufactured to the ISO 5296 standard for inch-pitch trapezoidal tooth profiles and are fully dimensionally interchangeable with equivalent-profile L timing belts from other mainstream international manufacturers.
